No clock change
Most of Mexico does not change its clocks. Mexico ended seasonal time changes in 2022.
Border strip clock changes
The northern border municipalities change on the US dates, at 2:00 AM local time:
- Sunday, March 8, 2026 - clocks go forward 1 hour (spring forward). At 2:00 AM local time, clocks jump forward to 3:00 AM.
- Sunday, November 1, 2026 - clocks go back 1 hour (fall back). At 2:00 AM local time, clocks go back to 1:00 AM.
- Sunday, March 14, 2027 - clocks go forward 1 hour (spring forward).
- Sunday, November 7, 2027 - clocks go back 1 hour (fall back).
Where the clocks change
The exception is the northern border strip: all of Baja California and a group of border municipalities in Chihuahua (including Ciudad JuĂĄrez), Coahuila, Nuevo LeĂłn and Tamaulipas still change their clocks on the same dates as the United States, to stay in sync with cities across the border.
The rule
The Ley de los Husos Horarios, published in October 2022, ended daylight saving time (horario de verano) across most of Mexico. The last nationwide change was on October 30, 2022.

Does Mexico change the clocks in 2026?
Most of the country does not. Only the northern border strip (Baja California and certain municipalities in Chihuahua, Coahuila, Nuevo LeĂłn and Tamaulipas) changes, on the US dates: forward on March 8, 2026 and back on November 1, 2026.
Does Mexico City change its clocks?
No. Mexico City stays on Central Standard Time (UTC-6) all year.
Does CancĂșn change its clocks?
No. Quintana Roo, including CancĂșn, stays on UTC-5 all year.
