Where the clocks change
Most provinces change their clocks, including Ontario, Quebec, Manitoba, the Atlantic provinces and Nunavut. British Columbia, Alberta and the Northwest Territories made March 8, 2026 their last clock change: they stay on daylight time year-round and will not fall back on November 1, 2026. Yukon and most of Saskatchewan already stay on the same time all year. A few local communities have their own arrangements.
Because B.C., Alberta and the N.W.T. stop changing clocks, their time difference with neighbouring provinces and US states will shift by one hour from November 1, 2026.
The rule
Where Canada uses daylight saving time, it follows the North American schedule: clocks go forward at 2:00 AM local time on the second Sunday in March and back at 2:00 AM local time on the first Sunday in November.
