Do the clocks go forward or back in November?

Back. In the United States and Canada, clocks fall back one hour at 2:00 AM on the first Sunday in November - November 1 in 2026 - so you gain an hour of sleep. In the UK and Europe the clocks go back a week earlier, on the last Sunday in October (October 25 in 2026).

What time do the clocks change?

In the US and Canada, at 2:00 AM local time in each time zone. In the EU and the UK, at the same moment everywhere: 1:00 AM UTC (1:00 AM in London, 2:00 AM in Paris and Berlin). Each country page lists the exact local time.

When does daylight saving time start in 2027?

In the US and most of Canada, on Sunday, March 14, 2027 at 2:00 AM. In the UK and the EU, on Sunday, March 28, 2027.

Is daylight saving time ending for good?

Not in the US yet. The Sunshine Protection Act passed the House in July 2026 but had not passed the Senate as of September 24, 2026, so clocks still fall back on November 1, 2026. In Canada, British Columbia, Alberta and the Northwest Territories have stopped changing their clocks.

Which US states do not change their clocks?

Hawaii and most of Arizona stay on standard time all year, as do Puerto Rico, the US Virgin Islands, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands and American Samoa.

Why are the Southern Hemisphere dates reversed?

Seasons are opposite south of the equator. Australia, New Zealand and Chile move their clocks forward in September or October, as their summer begins, and back in April.
